The Personal Side of Real Estate: Meet Lauren Fours, Your Wake County Realtor®

When I think about what led me to real estate, there wasn’t one “aha” moment; it was a series of experiences that built on each other and pulled me closer to where I am today. I’m Lauren, a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Advantage, and I specialize in helping people buy and sell homes in Holly Springs, Apex, Fuquay-Varina, and the surrounding areas of Southern Wake, Johnston and Harnett Counties.

Putting down roots and building a life for my family

A little over a decade ago, I moved to North Carolina with one goal: finding the best place to raise my kids. I’d done my homework, digging into school ratings, tax rates, and housing markets, and Holly Springs practically jumped off the map. The growth potential was obvious, but what really sold me was the sense of community. Now, I help other families make their homes here in Wake County.

My journey from history to homes…

Before real estate, my path was a little different. With a degree in history, my professional career began in teaching. I then pivoted to negotiating high-dollar settlements for the State of New York’s worker’s compensation division. That’s where I first learned the power of strong negotiation skills.

Around that time, a friend introduced me to the idea of investing in real estate and renting out properties. I was intrigued. It wasn’t long before I was researching the market, making offers, and flipping homes.

There’s something magical about walking into a property and seeing its potential, then helping others see it too. It’s what got me hooked, and it’s what I still love most about real estate today.

I became a Realtor in 2014, and I haven’t looked back!

Why real estate feels personal to me

When you’re helping someone buy or sell a home, you’re not just talking square footage and price tags. You’re talking dreams, goals, and sometimes even life transitions. That’s why I take the time to get to know my clients on a personal level. What are they excited about? What’s stressing them out? What’s the one non-negotiable they won’t compromise on?

For sellers, I make it a point to work closely with a home stager to ensure their house looks its absolute best. Presentation is everything, and I love seeing the pride my clients feel when their home shines for potential buyers.

On the buying side, I’m in my element working with everyone from first-time homebuyers to seasoned investors. If you’re navigating the world of rental properties or new construction, I’ll make sure the process is as smooth as possible. You can count on me to handle the details and keep the stress off your plate.

Finding the right fit for my clients

Over the years, I’ve helped a wide range of people, but there are a few types of clients I’ve come to specialize in, including:

Divorcing couples

Divorce is hard enough without the added stress of selling a home or deciding who gets what. I’ve been through it myself, so I understand how emotional and complicated it can be. My goal is to make the real estate piece of the puzzle as smooth as possible so my clients can focus on moving forward.

Active adults (55+)

Southern Wake County has so many great options for people looking to downsize or find a home that fits their lifestyle in retirement. But not every 55+ community is right for every person. I help my clients weigh their options and choose a place where they’ll feel comfortable and connected for years to come.

Balancing work, family, and everything in between

When I’m not showing homes or negotiating deals, you’ll find me juggling the organized chaos of a busy family. My kids keep me on my toes with cheer practice, cross-country meets, and whatever else we can pack into a week. I’m also a proud dog mom to Koko and Chewie, who add their own kind of fun to the mix.

And when I do get a quiet moment, you’ll usually find me in the garden. It’s my happy place, even when the North Carolina heat and clay soil make it a battle. There’s something about seeing the payoff of hard work, whether it’s a thriving garden or a happy client at the end of a transaction.
